It's hard to swing a stick without hitting a great Target sale or promo code. Anyone can crack open a coupon at checkout and save a few bucks, but it takes a true savings savant to truly maximize the bargains at Target. By getting to know the Circle App, RedCard, and Target's rotating stable of genuinely great sales, you can start every Target run with an automatic 6% off (more on that below). We’ll walk you through how to (literally) never pay full price at Target again.
Ulta's famous 21 Days of Beauty Sale inspired Target to start its own daily beauty deals. For two weeks, you can find great deals on some of Target's most popular makeup, skincare, and haircare brands. The best deals—50% off—only last for a day, though, so you have to check back here often to make sure you don't miss out. Circle members can bulk up their beauty savings with a $10 Target gift card with purchase of $40 or moe on select beauty. Click here to see all the products that qualify.
The Target Circle app, previously called Cartwheel, is a free loyalty program that comes with tons of perks. Use it to save 5%–50% on groceries, school supplies, baby diapers, cosmetics, and more! Sign up here to download the app to your phone and get access to these benefits:
Getting 1% cash back rewards is great, but what if you could save even more up front? With a Target RedCard, you can! Every time you shop at Target using the RedCard credit card or debit card, you save 5% automatically. That 5% discount is extended to in-store Starbucks locations and specialty gift cards for travel, movie tickets, and more. Here are other benefits you'll get:
It’s no surprise that Target’s best sales of the year come during Black Friday and Cyber Week. At these sales, you can expect an average discount of 37.6% off big and small appliances, vacuum cleaners, laptops, smart-home devices, digital cameras, and other electronics. Look for price drops on highly sought-after toys and video games as well.
Historically, Target has offered exclusive doorbusters online and in stores for the earliest shoppers. Keep your eyes peeled for daily deals, gift card promotions, coupons for future purchases, and free shipping offers. The long lines are often worth the wait, or you can stay home to shop in your pajamas and fuzzy bunny slippers, bedhead optional.
In 2021, Target stretched its Black Friday sale out through the entire month of November. Every week there were new deals to choose from. And Target extended its Price Match Guarantee from Nov. 1 to Dec. 24. That way, if you bought a "Black Friday deal" at any point during this period, you could request a price adjustment if the price was lowered at Target or on target.com. Check out Groupon Coupons for more tips to make the most of your Black Friday shopping plan.
Mark your calendar for December 5–6, or as it’s officially known from now on: Target Gift Card Sale Day! For one day only, Target offers a 10% discount on its own gift cards. (We don't know the exact date for 2022 just yet, but it is typically in the first two weeks of December.) You can pick up a gift card for friends, family, coworkers, as a special thank you, or for yourself (we won’t tell!) Gift cards are an easy and thoughtful surprise for teachers, postal workers, school bus drivers, hair stylists, nail salon technicians, and all the other hardworking people that make our lives brighter every day. Last year customers were able to purchase up to $300 in Target gift cards per household with a minimum value of $10 per card. Please note that shoppers do not receive an additional 5% discount if paying with a RedCard.
Target regularly has promos to get a $5 or $10 gift card when you spend at least a certain amount on food and beverages, cleaning supplies, paper products, beauty items, LEGOs, toys, and more. For current deals check here. A gift card promotion is a great time to stock up the pantry or essentials like skincare, shampoo, and makeup. It’s an easy way to save on the items you need anyway without waiting for a particular brand or product to go on sale.
Target’s huge selection of cute furniture, clothing, home goods, and everyday essentials makes it an obvious choice to go looking for new baby gear. Every year at the end of February, Target has its blowout Big Baby Sale. For about a week, you’ll find discounts on strollers, car seats, furniture, breast pumps, and so much more. The savings will vary based on brand and category, but it’s a great time to stock up if you’re a mom-to-be or know one.
Another way to save on baby gear at Target is to set up a baby registry. Target’s registry is easy to use for both mom-to-be and baby shower guests with features like a baby basics checklist, an app that lets you scan items at any of the 1,800 store locations or add items from other websites using the Universal registry, and a gift-tracking tool that keeps records of who gave you which gift and who you’ve thanked. For gift givers, Target’s baby registry lets guests chip in toward big-ticket items that would be otherwise unattainable for most budgets.
After registering, moms-to-be should visit Guest Services to receive a Welcome Kit containing $80 worth of coupons and samples. And if you didn’t get all the items on the registry you wanted? Target has a 15% registry completion discount, good on everything left on your baby registry. Target also offers wedding, college, and housewarming registries that also include the 15% registry completion discount.
