About Alegria’s Seafood

Fishing has been the backbone of Mexico's Nayarit region for a long time, with traditions stretching back hundreds of years before the arrival of the conquistadores. Today, you'll find fishermen engaged in the same seaside hunt, prowling the waters in search of sea bream, bass, shrimp, and oysters. Many of these find their way to the menu at Alegria’s Seafood And Mexican Grill, where chefs honor their heritage with fresh takes on traditional coastal favorites.

Meals often begin with starters such as shrimp empanadas or tangy ceviche, which pairs fresh lime juice with bites of shrimp or white fish. Seafood also commands attention within the entrees; favorites include whole red snapper, Nayarit-style mussels, and camarones cucaracha, which pairs deep-fried shrimp with a spicy sauce inspired by preparations of Nayarit's indigenous Huichol people. Chefs don't limit themselves to ingredients caught by hook, net, or hypnotism, and you'll also find plenty of beef and chicken, including peppery carne asada and pollo zamora topped with beans and chile de árbol sauce.
