Structural integration bodywork focuses on reducing the taut binding of the connective tissue, or fascia, around the muscles, which can be caused by poor posture. It’s also great for chronic pain and injury. After evaluating the client’s needs, the therapist uses pressure to realign the body with gravity, relieve tension, and reduce pain. Clients should be partially clothed; see more information here.
During the Thai-massage workshop, couples learn the benefits of the modality’s compression, pulling, rocking, and assisted yoga-like stretches and how to perform those movements for each other.
