This tour was awesome! We went to some cool places with a lot of history. Nick was a fantastic guide and had a lot of knowledge to share with our group. I also loved how the groups are smaller and more intimate. I would definitely recommend this tour and would be interested in doing more tours in different locations with Nick!

Really great tour, Went to unique spots and got to investigate on our own. Nick spent quality time with each person in the group and was very informative. Variety of equipment we were able to use and I liked how he actually sits down after the tours and spends time going through what was gathered to see what could be debunked and what may tie into the area that could have significant meaning!

Stop At: Philadelphia Alley

This is home to one of Charleston’s most famous ghost stories—that of the Whistling Doctor. Legend has it that Dr. Joseph Brown Ladd, who was known for whistling, was saved from murder and robbery by a stranger, Ralph Isaacs, and the two soon became best friends. But Isaacs grew jealous of Ladd’s success as a doctor and challenged him to a duel on the brick-lined Philadelphia Alley, and that’s where the doctor was slain. Here on this historical alley, tour-takers seek out cold spots using infrared and ambient thermometers, seek apparitions using laser grid pens, take EMF readings, and record audio for the faint sound of the doctor whistling when the sun goes down.

Stop At: St. Philip’s Church, 142 Church St (10-minute duration)

At this church, tour-takers learn about the plethora of specters and creepy tales that surround the church.

Pass By: East Bay Street (10-minute duration)

East Bay Street is lined with haunted spots.

End location: Waterfront Park, Vendue Range, Concord St, Charleston, SC 29401
