About Cuddle Up to Me
Though she had never met him before, Sam Hess had no problem immediately spooning CBS Sunday Morning's Mo Rocca—all while millions of viewers looked on. That's because Sam is a professional cuddler. Her job might sound a little odd at first, especially to Americans, whose culture doesn't encourage physical touch the way other cultures do, but professional huggers like Sam believe touch can improve health and well-being.
At Cuddle Up, Sam and her fellow cuddlers engage in strictly non-sexual, fully clothed cuddling sessions meant to make clients feel as if they're in a motherly embrace. Unlike pet cats, the professional cuddlers never mind being the big spoon, and they can cycle through a handful of the more than 50 positions in their arsenal during a session. They also lead Inner Child workshops, which allow adults to act like kids again with such activities as storytime, arts and crafts, and Play-Doh eating. With such a business model, it's no wonder Cuddle Up to Me has gotten tons of press.
