Financial Beginnings is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides finance education to youth and young adults in the Pacific Northwest. The generosity of community members, volunteers, businesses and foundations enable Financial Beginnings to provide these programs at no cost to participants.
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
Financial Beginnings offers a variety of programs serving youth, educators, and the community at large. Program categories include Youth Programs, Community Education & Outreach, and Advocacy. Financial Beginnings provides curriculum for students and presenter guides for volunteers.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
This particular event seeks to provide attendees with knowledge and tools that meet the Oregon Core Social Science Standards for Personal Finance and provide additional information on money management. Participants include local educators, students pre-K through college, and community members.
What do you love most about your job?
The earlier we can get youth to prioritize financial education, the more opportunities they will have for success in the future. We support educators who are passionate and dedicated advocates for youth. This event is a chance for teachers and students to recommit themselves to financial success.
