Fridge Art Fair
Not so long ago, Eric Ginsburg was a young artist looking for an alternative to New York's huge, and hugely-hyped, art galleries. Something more intimate, and a little more playful. To that end, he founded Fridge Art Fair. Its title is a play on New York's "Frieze Week," and its exhibition space is small. One of Eric's calls for submissions reads simply, "Who can fit in the fridge?"—a question typically reserved for conversations between ice sculptures.
Flocks of artists decided they could fit in Fridge Art Fair's space, though. As a result, it's racked up an impressive list of past exhibitors hailing from the Netherlands, Cleveland, and everywhere in between. And the space has become a cultural hub: when it's not showcasing up-and-coming artists, Ginsburg and his team are hosting galas to benefit their endeavor.
