What You’ll Do
In Native American tradition, the delicate threads that criss-cross a dreamcatcher’s hoop serve a purpose: to act as a sieve, snagging unpleasant dreams and allowing good ones to drift down to the dreamer that sleeps below. Whether you use one to catch dreams or simply to catch the eye, Angelica Gonzalez’s hands-on workshop will help you to appreciate the craftmanship that goes into making each dangling bauble. Students will leave with a dreamcatcher keychain that they can dangle in a window, hang above a pillow, or chain to some keys.
Make a Dainty Dreamcatcher
Gonzales leads students step-by-step through the process of weaving a delicate web through the center of a metal ring.
Customize Your Dreamcatcher
Tap into your own creativity and adorn your catcher with beads, ribbons, lace, and other supplies.
Angelica Gonzalez can say a lot without uttering a single word. The artist believes that the primary essence of existence can be communicated through the things we make, an idea that lives at the heart of her Etsy store, Genuine Aura. Gonzalez isn’t content to merely craft and sell her handmade designs and re-creations; she also leads crafting events for Girl Scout troops, schools, and small private groups.
