The event takes place at Angelic Organics, a sustainable farm in the Rockford area.
Each event is capped at 12 participants; each event requires a minimum of 8 participants in order to take place.
What You’ll Do
Just outside the city limits lies a bounty of edible plants and seasonal foods that thrive in Midwestern soil. Head to the scenic trails bordering the Angelic Organics farm to meet your guide, farm educator and forager April Morris, where you’ll enjoy a nature walk to seek out foods like garlic mustard, stinging nettle, and raspberry shoots. After foraging, you’ll return to the kitchen to sample recipes, learn about herbalism and the farm-to-table movement, and boost your cooking and survival skills.

A natural history major at Northland College, April Morris took her love of all things agricultural to a local fruit and flower farm in Bayfield before joining the team at Angelic Organics. Today, in her role as an educator, April teaches curious cooks her unique field-to-table philosophy and about the importance of organic farming. A born forager, April’s true passion lies with wild edibles, which combine her love of food with her background in natural history.
