As one of the longest running musicals on and off broadway, Godspell is based on the Gospel according to Matthew, and is a celebration of the life of Jesus Christ. It includes dramatized versions of several well-known parables and musical numbers yet is a heart warming experience, a demonstration of joy, and a reminder to love one another. It relays the simple lessons of the Gospels, accomplished through humorous sketches and musical numbers penned by Stephen Schwartz of Wicked and Pippin fame and written by John-Michael Tebelak. The showtunes range from the stripped-down and soulful 1971 hit “Day by Day” to “Turn Back, O Man.” Godspell is a musical the entire family can enjoy and this will be the very first show at the new Dreamhouse theatre.
