Angels, Dances, and Songs
The Talent: the 70+ woodwind, brass, and percussion instrumentalists of the Metropolitan Wind Symphony, who’ve been serenading the Greater Boston area with pristine concert band music for 44 years
The Program: a spirited collection of music with themes of dancing and angels (including Frank Ticheli’s Angels in the Architecture), plus Robert Russell Bennett’s Symphonic Songs for Band (a favorite amongst wind bands)
Highlights: the world premiere of Jason Huffman’s Alleles and MWS clarinetists David Minot and Wolcott Humphrey performing music director Lewis Buckley’s Fantasy for Two Clarinets
