The festival’s roster of narrative features opens with The Sapphires, an Australian musical drama about an Aboriginal Motown group, and closes with Upside Down a science-fiction romance between Jim Sturgess and Kirsten Dunst.

####OFF the EDGE The films in the [OFF the EDGE](http://gr.pn/15gimzw) series are not for the faint of heart, nor for those too attached to their socks. [Year of the Living Dead](http://gr.pn/11JNmsH) looks at George Romero's very first Living Dead movie and explores how the political environment of the '60s shaped the cutting edge horror movie, whereas [Confine](http://gr.pn/15gfm5X) follows a former model and recovering abuse victim who finds herself trapped in her own home by an unpredictable, possibly violent thief.

####Nebraska Short Films Nebraska's crop of [short films](http://gr.pn/YhvNtr) leans towards the dark and thought-provoking this year, with such items as [“Julia's Daughter”](http://gr.pn/YhF9pd), where an elderly woman must come to terms with her past, and [“Three Trees”](http://gr.pn/15gdHgP), a conversation with a real Master Sergeant who relieves his PTSD through photography. Other films show there's still room for silliness, such as [“2D”](http://gr.pn/Yixwif), a cartoon-live action mash-up.

####Documentaries This year's [documentaries](http://gr.pn/YhvBKH) take a glimpse at people doing good around the world in films such as [Pad Yatra: A Green Odyssey](http://gr.pn/15gP1F0), but also delve into the controversial with [Informant](http://gr.pn/15g9U31), about radical activist turned FBI informant Brandon Darby, whom some call hero and others call traitor.

####Live-Action and Animated Shorts Each day of the festival includes a block of [live action](http://gr.pn/YhvRJE) and [animated shorts](http://gr.pn/15g7GRr). [“Access”](http://gr.pn/XQoJUV) tells a tense gangster story about a heist gone wrong, while on the more light-hearted side, [“I Hate You Red Light,”](http://gr.pn/11Jjeh6) explores the tyranny of traffic signals in an animated fashion. The Oscar-nominated ["Head Over Heels"](http://omaha.festivalgenius.com/2013/films/headoverheels0_timothyreckart_omaha2013), meanwhile, takes a visually ingenious look at a married couple that literally does not see eye-to-eye.
