Singing families often seem like the stuff of bygone television shows and Oscar-winning musicals. The very real siblings that make up the Haygoods, however, turn this impression on its head with rollicking stage performances that showcase their years of entertainment experience. The team of five brothers and one sister has been performing in the musical town of Branson since 1993, a career that has moved them from singing and dancing at Silver Dollar City to starring in their own show at the theater they purchased.
The group’s dynamic concerts showcase their skills on 20 instruments, as they weave saxophone, piano, and mandolin with their seamless harmonies. They apply pipes and strings to a song catalog that moves from Motown hits and country classics to their own original compositions that blend rock, pop, and Americana. As the Haygoods belt out tunes such as “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” and “Hey, Soul Sister,” they dazzle onlookers with fleet-footed moves inspired by years of sneaking into each others’ rooms to borrow clothing without permission.<p>
