A Chat with Hugo Miguez & Stacy Kay Dance Professionals
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Our approachable and pleasant front desk staff. Our National Champion instructors who guide you through unique lessons that are exciting and easy to follow. Hours of social dancing on a massive sprung wooden floor with a state of the art sound and lighting system. Sandwich and beverage bar.
What's one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans?
Casual clothing is best. Ladies we recommend pants rather then skirts or dresses. Shoes that stay on the foot and have a smoother bottom (ie. Flats, Toms), NO flip flops please.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Raising self confidence and creating an atmosphere where everyone feels safe to learn is what drove us to start this business. Helping people connect with their own bodies, as well as to another person and the music is a truly wonderful reward. We also aim to raise awareness for partner dancing.
What do you love most about your job?
The thing we love most about teaching is hearing that something we taught changed something for someone, or gave them something they were missing. Even better, is an effect we may never see. We hope that the love, passion and joy we feel for dancing will be passed to someone else, and so on.
