What a great place for fabulous entertainment & exercise for the whole family! A great value. And I love that there are “walkers” for training/safety for kids And adults. I was a very good skater in younger days and still enjoy doing this with my grandchildren but cannot afford to fall or get hurt, so I greatly appreciate the skating aide. There are also wonderful monitors to keep skating safe.

We had so much fun! The only thing I noticed, the shoes and the facility is old and not well maintained but other than that great experience!!!

This is an older facility but the skates are good and the people are friendly. My only real complaint is that it gets really crowded and there are too many trainers (walker-like metal deathtraps) out at once. They cut deep ruts in the ice and the people using them don't really watch where they're going. My kids (9 & 11), who can skate but are definitely novices, were both plowed into a few times.

About Iceland of Hampton Roads

A row of flags hangs in solidarity from the rafters above an indoor ice rink, uniting Canada, the USA, and Sweden in the one passion that they all have in common: hockey. Iceland of Hampton Roads fosters this love of icy sports in skaters of all ages and experience levels via youth hockey leagues, synchronized skating classes, and lessons, in which instructors introduce students as young as age 3 to their reflections in the ice. Adults compete in 10- or 20-game seasons in hockey leagues utilizing USA Hockey rules—and kids' hockey leagues consist of games, practices, power skating, and skills. During synchronized skating classes, teams of 8 to 20 skaters choreograph complex skating formations, such as the parallel pinwheel—in which lines of skaters rotate in unison—or the flying V—which they use to head south for the winter.
