Every local community has a story, a history, and a unique personality that cannot be replicated. This is often thanks to specialized, small-scale businesses, like this one, which contribute to a neighborhood’s distinctive character and promote a thriving ecosystem in their community. Small, independent businesses offer diverse products and services, fostering economic resilience by removing the local economy’s dependence on a single industry. When you buy local, you build local, and deepen your connection to your own community.
As a result, patronizing a local business like this is an act of community building. Check out their website to learn more about the local experience you can discover today.

In2u Beauty Bar
When Dora Valderruten was a kid, she loved giving her friends manicures. That childhood hobby eventually became her passion, and Dora earned a cosmetology license in her native Colombia. After relocating to America, she earned a second license, and eventually opened In2u Beauty Bar—a sunny, chic space where Dora performs all the spa treatments herself. She still does mani-pedis, of course, but her childhood repertoire has expanded to include organic facials and microdermabrasion treatments. Clients can also get rid of unwanted hair with naturally derived waxing treatments, and they can soon opt for laser hair removal, which Dora will add to the menu just as soon as robots are legalized.

“They were very accommodating. I had to reschedule 1/2 before my appointment and they were kind enough to juggle an appointment and call me back with a time when I could make it 2 1/2 hours later. They knew I had a Groupon but were very nice about it. The beautician took her time and gave me a very nice mani-pedi and even waxed my eyebrows without that appointment. I was even offered a glass of chilled white wine.... a very nice touch on a hot June day. I will return. ”
