They guide students of all ages and skill levels—including athletes, seniors, and those with disabilities—along their own personal paths of growth, fulfillment, and well-being. Eschewing the popular notion that yoga is about exercise, they teach that yoga is about creating balance in the body through the development of flexibility and strength. This does not mean that they shun modernity, however. Between chants and inspirational readings, these spiritual instructors focus on healing their students' contemporary ailments, such as neck pain caused by computer usage and stress caused by worrying about the sun exploding.
