About Naan & Kabab
Before he helmed the kitchen at Naan & Kebab, Chef Maurice spent a decade as the head culinary instructor at San Jose's Job Corps. There, he taught troubled youths not just to be line cooks but to express themselves through cooking, the same way artists express themselves by wearing thick-rimmed glasses.
Now, he uses his culinary talents in a different setting: Naan & Kebab, where fresh flowers adorn each table and strains of live music waft through the dining area. When he and his team aren't frying up falafel or crafting gyros, they're hand-stuffing marinated grape leaves with herbed rice, creating dolmades. Their seafood dishes, such as the prawn kabab, evoke the Mediterranean sea, and diners can always enhance their sumptuous meals with a glass of wine or a scoop of housemade vanilla-saffron ice cream.
