Run the Ranch MudRun
Thirty minute east of Downtown Dallas, far past the suburban sprawl and the skyscrapers made of shiny Lincoln Logs, nature beckons budding athletes to get down and dirty at the Run the Ranch MudRun. Set within the scenic 300 acres of Sabine Creek Ranch, where hills and naturally flowing creeks shroud continually muddy wetlands, the daunting 5K course pits racers against up to 20 obstacles to benefit charities in the Rockwall and Royse City area. Mud-run veterans and a fraternal duo of U.S. Marines designed the course, making it a worthy test of every participant’s limits. Food, music, and games follow the race, and a half-mile kids’ course and mud pit ensure that everyone in the family has the chance to destroy a towel.
Sabine Creek Ranch
Sabine Creek Ranch has long served the area as a working cattle ranch and equestrian center. For the last 30 years, it's also provided a community gathering place to escape the confines of the city and celebrate a shared faith. The Ranch hosts independent, non-denominational Christian summer camps for kids and retreats for men and women. Additionally, it provides family-friendly holiday programming in the form of its Southern Lights show, a combination of decor, holiday treats, and live music set in a constructed wintry village. The village also includes a model train show, hayrides, and Santa's workshop, where the man in red waits to listen to the Christmas wishes of good little children.
