On Saturday, August 16 from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., guests descend upon the Cuban Club for the Summer of Rum Festival. The club is divided into several rum zones, which feature cocktails made with a variety of rum brands, including Cruzan Rum and Naked Turtle. Island-themed musical acts, including tropical-rock band Jimmy Stowe & the Stowaways and reggae group I-Resolution, perform throughout the festival.
Summer of Rum Festival
The Summer of Rum Festival is packed with live entertainment, food—and most importantly, cocktails. Rum lovers fill three floors of the Cuban Club and spill onto the patio. On the first floor, visitors find the main drag—nicknamed Rum Street—crowded with thatched-roof huts, dappled with palm fronds, and replete with beachside paraphernalia, from surfboards to emotionally deflated beach balls. There, each hut serves different types of rum, including wares from Bacardi, Koloa Rum Co., and Naked Turtle in a variety of classic and contemporary rum and tiki cocktails. Upstairs, head to the tasting room to sip samples from more than 40 varieties of the sugar-cane spirit or head down to food truck alley to grab tropical-themed cuisine from the mobile snack zones.
