A Chat with The Blank Canvas, OK
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Our focus is on finding the creativity in us all. Everyone does not go home with the same painting. Participants are encouraged to change the color palette or placement of objects to really make it their own.
What is the experience customers can expect?
At The Blank Canvas, anything goes. Whatever ends up on the canvas, if you like it, it stays. If you want something different, an instructor will guide you so you can make changes and be happy with your project. Customer satisfaction is very important and the instructors are here for you.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Diana Hood has been involved in creating and teaching art for many years. She has run an independent studio and taught at a private school as well as a public school. After a few friends encouraged her to try out the social painting phenomena, she decided to open a location in Stillwater.
What do you love most about your job?
The best part of this job is watching paintings come to life and to see the artist’s mood shift from doubt to satisfaction. It is fascinating to see participants come up with new approaches time and time again.
