What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
The Poppy Cottage Studio by Pey & pen started of as Pey & pen Design. We began refinishing furniture and eventually kitchen cabinets. About half way through, we discovered Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan. We began exclusively using this premium paint ans loved it so much that when The Poppy Cottage Studio was available for purchase, we welcomed the challenge of operating a retail location.
What do you love most about your job?
We, at The Poppy Cottage Studio by Pey & pen, love to be creative and inspire other to be creative as well. Its one thing to create piece on your own, however, seeing a piece created by someone you not only taught but inspired is even more rewarding.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
The best reaction we have ever received from a customer was when we finished her kitchen cabinets, she came in the next week wanting some instruction, guidance and all the paint and supplies to paint her laundry room and bathroom vanity. She finished the following day and sent pictures of her work (looked amazing). She was so thankful and greatful for helping her save money, getting a new look in her home and learning for any future projects.
