Urban Flats’ menu puts a modern twist on the classic pairing of pizza and wine by crafting gourmet flatbreads served along with carefully selected varietals from around the world. For Wine Down Wednesdays, pairs can nibble on flatbread and appetizer samplings in between sips from an array of international vinos. To create tip-top tastings, Urban Flats utilizes a temperature-controlled system that preserves wines at their ideal temp, preventing oxidation and fever-induced rants.
Within the stone-hearth oven, the anchor of Urban Flats’ kitchen, whole-wheat flatbreads bake beneath 1 of 17 combinations of farm-fresh toppings. Blue cheese—the clumsiest of cheeses—tumbles down the meaty peaks of the spicy shrimp-and-chorizo flatbread ($9.75), and a honey-mustard sauce drizzles over the turkey, pear, and brie ($9.50). The chefs also concoct a collection of seasonal entrees, such as baja mahi tacos loaded with sesame slaw and avocado salsa ($10.50), or ravioli filled with portobello and shiitake mushrooms ($11). The worldwide wine selection ranges from effervescent Italian prosecco ($8) to Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon ($9) and moon-imported bottle of rocks.
Our customers loved this deal last year, earning Urban Flats a spot on Groupon’s Best of 2011 list.
