Wayne Webb's Columbus Bowl
Rainbow Lanes had been a fixture in Columbus for 50 years, but it was in bad need of rescue when PBA Hall of Famer Wayne Webb purchased it a few years back. Under Wayne's care, the vintage alley has been brought back to life, getting significant upgrades including new glossy, synthetic lanes, an automated scoring system, a slew of 42" flat-screen TVs, and an Internet jukebox. Bowlers even benefit from a "watch-your-own-replay" feature that shows them their ball's trajectory and makes suggestions for improvement on the next roll.
Of course, there was one important element of this bowling alley that didn't need an upgrade: the laid-back ambiance that welcomes bowlers of all ages and skill levels. Bowling leagues help members learn new techniques, while themed events such as Cosmic Bowling add an unexpected element to the sport. When bowlers need meal break, they can head to the on-site restaurant, to fuel up on breakfast sandwiches, burgers, and pizza.
