Instructors supervise as students try their hand at flying helicopters themselves; tour provides aerial views of NYC sights
What You'll Get
Flying is a lot like having a staring contest—even with utter concentration, you’ll never be better at it than birds. Go toe-to-beak with our winged companions with this voucher.
Choose from Two Options
- One Helicopter Piloting Experience for One with a Guest (Ground Instruction + 30-Minute Flight)
- One Private 30-Minute Helicopter Tour Over New York City for Two
The piloting experience begins with ground instruction covering helicopter controls, basic flying techniques and safety procedures before heading out to the helicopter. After taking off for an approximately 30-minute flight, the instructor hands lets the student take over and practice basic flying maneuvers over Westchester County and the Hudson Valley. The student will do the majority of the actual flying using dual controls under instructor supervision. Lessons are not permitted in New York City airspace due to federal regulations. Piloting experiences are private and allow one student to fly the helicopter and one guest passenger to ride along to observe.
The New York City tour, which Westchester Magazine recently highlighted as a creative date idea, grants passengers stunning aerial views of Midtown and Uptown Manhattan, Empire State Building, Central Park and Yankee Stadium, all of which are all the more striking set against a colorful sunset. The 30-minute tour does not reach the Downtown Manhattan/Statue of Liberty area but flies directly over parts of Manhattan (except restricted areas). Please contact Wings Air Helicopters to extend the tour to 45 minutes to see Lower Manhattan and Lady Liberty for an additional fee. Children younger than 2 years may sit on parent’s lap.

About Wings Air Helicopters
Wings Air Helicopters' band of experienced pilots have been advocating the beauty of airborne travel through charter services, flight lessons and sightseeing since 2002. Wings Air owns and operates its own fleet of helicopters including smaller Robinson R44's and larger Airbus models to suit a wide variety of aviation needs. Within helicopter cockpits, Bose noise-canceling headsets block out the hum of spinning propellers to ensure clear communication during charters and tours. Wings Air is the proud holder of numerous safety ratings and awards for peace of mind.
