A personal trainer's headshot sometimes hints at his or her approach to fitness. A stiff, smiling portrait could be an indication of a by-the-book trainer. You won't see any of those headshots on Yellowstone CrossFit's website. The photo of coach Wes Staton actually depicts him pushing a sled using only his body weight. That basically sums up the philosophy at Yellowstone, which is that intense versions of functional movements are the best way to not only shed pounds, but also prepare your body for everyday life. So instead of treadmills and buzzing TVs, the studio has equipment for dead lifts, jumping, squatting, and other strengthening moves.
