A Chat with Aps Beauty
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Using the proven techniques of the original oil-based conditioning system Moroccanoil, we have achieved unprecedented success in helping clients resolve unfavorable scalp and hair conditions.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
To help with the need for the promotion of diversity education. We have too much attention being averted to our “differences” and very little toward our “sameness.” Through cosmetology we shine a light on our “sameness” through visual, audible, and direct dialogue.
What do you love most about your job?
Interacting with and meeting new people is definitely a highlight of my “job,” but I’d also have to put “creative expression outlet” parallel with that answer!
What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a customer?
A well-traveled and well-connected customer took me out to dinner to tell me that “as many hairdressers that she’s been to all over the states I’m the best for her” ...and that though she is moving to ATL she will be traveling back once a month to have her hair done!
A Private Salon
Regardless of a client's hair length, color, or texture, one of A Private Salon's stylists probably specializes in working with it. Michael Ryan is a master cosmetologist specializing in color placement and correction. Marisol McGee is a former color educator for Schwarzkopf International, her focus being hair design, updos, and color. Pamela Smith works on excessively curly hair textures. Dwight Posey's fortes are scalp care and all facets of creative hair design. All the stylists, however, spend time listening to clients' hair needs and desires.
