Q&A with Justin Harvey, Director Of Outreach
Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
Aerial fabric is a challenging workout, but the first time you successfully complete a skill, you'll feel like a superhero. It's a great way to build strength, even if you feel like you don't have any upper body strength to begin with.
Sweating to the oldies is acceptable, but sweating to the blues less so. Do you find that certain styles and genres of music generate more intense workouts?
Aerial class is an intense workout, but we find that chill but rhythmic music is the best accompaniment.
When and how did you first develop a passion for fitness?
abrasiveMedia was begun by professional performing artists. We love aerial because it's lower impact than martial arts, gymnastics, and some forms of dance, but it's still a solid workout. And a beautiful art form.
