Seasonal hikes traverse the Sonoran Desert of the Spur Cross Ranch and Conservation area in about 2.5 to three hours. During the 6-mile trek, hikers will catch glimpses of Elephant Mountain, giant Saguaro cactus, stream crossings, and ancient Petroglyph and riparian habitats. This is a beginner to intermediate level hike with excellent photo opportunities.
The Tom’s Thumb hike winds through the pristine granite formations of the Sonoran Desert. After a stop at Ogre’s Cave, the 5-mile hike culminates at the base of Tom’s Thumb with breathtaking views of the surrounding boulders, mountains, and valleys. This hike is rated moderate to difficult.
