Asheville Glass Center

Combining experience in lampworking, glass blowing, and jewelry design, the experienced glassblowers of Asheville Glass Center lead workshops and classes to share their passion for manipulating molten glass. The two- to three-hour intro courses teach neophytes to craft borosilicate marbles and soft glass beads, and more in-depth classes result in intricate implosion flowers and sand-cast solid forms. The center also offers open studio time for more experienced artists who wish to work alone, like the winningest three-legged racers.

Customer Reviews

I had stopped by during a gallery crawl before and was intrigued by the work. I've wanted to go back, but the cogs was out of my budget at the time. So, when I saw the Groupon, I thought it was the perfect time to try it! The experience was great! I felt that They balanced the guidance/help very well and allowed me to have enough autonomy over my glass work to feel like I was actually making it on my own. I love that I was able to learn a little about the art and history of glass as well. I felt like the instructors enjoyed teaching and wanted to be there.

Had a great time. I was given opportunity to make mistakes and get suggestions on correcting the issues. This is a GOOD thing! :)
