About Avalon Cafe & Biscuit Bar
The origin of Avalon International Breads in June of 1997, within a converted storefront in the Cass Corridor of Detroit, seemed an unlikely venture to many. But Detroit's reputation of great economic distress did not faze owners Ann and Jackie, who worked tirelessly to raise funds, develop their business plan, and garner attention for their artisan baked goods, all of which are made from 100% organic flour.
At their cafe, Avalon Cafe & Biscuit Bar, guests can dine on their homemade bread, ranging from "Motown multigrain" to "Mack Avenue marble rye" on their specialty sandwiches. Guests can also customize their breakfast with Avalon's build-your-own-biscuit sandwiches, choosing their types of cheese and protein, as well as additional toppings including avocado, apple jam, or herb mayonnaise.

The service today was A+++++. My biscuit was premium. It held up ALL day. I ate half for breakfast and the other for lunch. The peanut butter cookies melted in my mouth. Will be my Friday treat to myself.

Avalon is a great little cafe. They have a lot of great baked goods and food. Their vegan breakfast sandwich was delicious. They also have many vegan baked goods. It’s always a good experience when I go.
