The ability to differentiate between red and green curry is the mark of a good Thai chef and a common tell among children faking colorblindness to skip school. Test your rods and cones with today’s Groupon to Bangkok Cafe on West 5th Avenue. Choose between the following options:

  • For $15, you get a Thai meal for two during lunch or dinner (up to a $33.50 total value) that includes the following items:
  • One appetizer (up to an $8.50 value)
  • Two entrees (up to a $12.50 value each)

  • For $25, you get a Thai meal for four during dinner (up to a $58.50 total value) that includes the following items:

Bangkok Cafe’s Thai chef Vue Oor sprinkles his curry and noodle entrees with traditional spices to spark palates, prompting the Anchorage Daily News to praise the restaurant’s authentic “layers of flavor.” Guests can practice stealthily unfolding a rival’s origami collection with an appetizer of fresh spring rolls, whose cucumber, egg, chicken, shrimp, and noodle filling welcomes dips into homemade peanut sauce. The Gang panang mingles veggies and a chosen meat—beef, pork, chicken, or shrimp—in a coconut milk panang curry, and a classic portion of pad thai pairs stir-fried rice noodles with bean sprouts, peanuts, eggs, and green onions. For a satisfying crunch without gnawing on squares of bubble wrap, feasters can sink teeth into the pad cashew’s blend of cashews, carrots, and water chestnuts. Chefs splash orders with mild, medium, or hot spices by request, and quell herbivorous cravings with a roster of vegetarian dishes that substitute tofu for meat.

Hanging floral artwork and Eastern scenes splash vibrant colors onto the café’s walls, and mounted fans ensure that diners can create a breeze to knock over any cardboard cutouts that may have followed them into the restaurant.

Customer Reviews

Great value!

I love it all. Only feedback I'd give is charging less for sodas if you're only going to give people cans...Two dollars for a can of soda is rough. Other than that, it's wonderful! Thank you!
