Without restaurants, waiters would purposelessly wander parks all day, folding swans out of actual swans. Keep their hands occupied with this Groupon.

$7 for $15 Worth of Upscale American Cuisine for Two

The menu includes appetizers ($10–$15) such as smoked-salmon cakes and pork belly with apple-fennel slaw, salads ($5–$13) such as the poached pear with mango-ginger stilton cheese, and entrees ($17–$29) such as housemade lobster ravioli and coconut-shrimp pasta with pineapple and banana-cream sauce.

Carmela's Bistro & Wine Bar

Carmela's Bistro & Wine Bar's staff sets up iPad screens displaying more than 300 different bottles of wines. The Wine Spectator's 2011 Award of Excellence–winning restaurant serves its vino in bottles, glasses, and flights. Its huge selection of wine unites with cuisine inspired by the season, like bikinis in the summer and the use of Northern Exposure DVDs in the winter to cover holes in the wall. Inside the kitchen, the chef prepares these seasonal dishes with many gluten-free options, which can accent the flavor notes in the wines. A fruity poached-pear salad with raspberry vinaigrette and mango-ginger stilton cheese, and a savory filet with truffle butter and roasted red potatoes are just two of the kitchen's creations. Carmela's also hosts Sunday brunch that feature crab-cake benedicts with parmesan-cream sauce to pair with sparkling wines. Another testament to the eatery's hospitable nature are the two private dining areas that can seat parties of up to 30 guests celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

Carmela's Bistro & Wine Bar

A perennial winner of Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence five years running, Carmela's Bistro & Wine Bar unites its distinctive pours with a rotating menu of seasonally-inspired cuisine. Current and past favorites have included duck-stuffed quail with duck fat roasted fingerling potatoes and fig and prosciutto pizza with goat cheese, truffle oil, and parmesan cream sauce. These rich bites go hand-in-hand with the renowned wine list pairing as well as with craft brews and cocktails. On Sundays, brunch takes the stages with crab cake benedicts, bread pudding french toast, and other filling entrees.
