$282 for a four-day SSI open water diver certification course with gear credit ($650 value)
Open water certification for students ages 15 and up is a four-day course that includes two classes, two pool sessions, one beach dive, and one boat dive. Students must purchase snorkeling gear—mask, fin, snorkel, boots, and gloves—before pool sessions.
Channel Islands Scuba recommends for optimal safety diving conditions that divers not be overweight and in good health. Diving can be strenuous under certain conditions. Respiratory and circulatory systems must be in good health. All body air spaces must be normal and healthy. A person with heart trouble, epilepsy, a severe medical problem, or who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs should not dive.
