CSI: The Experience
A car smashes through the front window of a living room, but no one knows why. A waitress dies and the only clues are scattered throughout an alleyway. A partially buried skeleton is found in a desert canyon, but how long it’s been there is anyone’s guess. It’s up to every visitor to CSI: The Experience to collect evidence and solve the mysteries. After scouring the crime scenes, honorary detectives use Lab 1’s forensic technology to examine fingerprints, blood-spatters, and fibers. In Lab 2, a medical examiner conducts an autopsy complete with toxicology, insect, and DNA tests. Throughout the experience, CSI character Gil Grissom guides visitors along, urging them to exercise reasoning, logic, and open-minded exploration, as well as play the perpetrator’s confession album backwards for clues. At the end, participants report their conclusions and discover whether they solved the case.
Consumed by Art
Consumed by Art isn’t your typical museum or gallery exhibit. For one, the main rule here defies convention: photographs are mandatory. With smartphones or cameras, visitors snap pictures of each other as they pose in front of incredibly lifelike paintings of landscapes, animals, and mythological creatures. Artists create these 3D illusions using a technique pioneered by street painters and muralists. Once captured as photos, the scenes bring visitors and the figures in the painting together in one astonishingly convincing fantasy world.
