A Chat with Dakota Country Dance Club
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
We are they only group offering weekly country line dances open to the public. We are a non-profit dance club. You do not need a member to come to our events. We have a great website, and members enjoy exclusive entry to special sections, including dance videos and social networking with other members.
What’s one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans?
You may be thinking: “I have two left feet.” No way! Come out, relax, have fun. If you forget a step, keep moving eventually you get it and have “happy feet.” Instructor Lori Williams is an accomplished dancer, winning many competitions at Country Western Dance International (CWDI), and she will share her experience with you.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
DCDC was founded in 1984 because its members felt a need for line dance classes—the latest trend—on a weeknight. This a fun time with friends and family, bring your adult children, and you will be surprised at the fun you can have. You don’t need a partner, and you’ll get great exercise without realizing it!
What do you love most about your job?
Dakota Country Dance Club is a wonderful group of fun, outgoing people. I love learning new dances and the thrill of accomplishment when new dances moves are achieved. DCDC offers a wealth of information about dance classes and dance opportunities in and around our area.
