About National Infantry Museum Foundation
It's hard to do justice to the full contributions of infantry men and women in the United States Army. However, one of the quickest ways to grasp the heroism of these individuals is to take a slow walk through the National Infantry Museum's signature attraction, The Last 100 Yards. A slightly sloped ramp leads through life-sized dioramas that depict some of the most significant moments in the infantry's past. Visitors walk onto battlefields from Yorktown to Antietam; Normandy to Iraq. Look straight up, and they'll even see a WWII troop glider and the enormous birdbath it's washed in every night.
A dozen other exhibits spread across the 190,000-square-foot museum. Their combined artifacts, photos, and displays paint a vivid picture of the infantry from its earliest days to present. The National Infantry Museum has been voted as the best free Museum by USA Today. It also houses a giant screen theater as well as combat simulators whose mounted vehicles and simulated rifles put visitors right in the middle of realistic combat situations.
