What You’ll Do

Fondant is a favorite tool among pastry chefs, but kids can use it to make some festive edible art of their own. During her one-hour class, Alexandra Banas teaches children to do just that, imparting shaping and layering techniques that kids can use on mini cakes or small batches of cookies and cupcakes.

  • Dress the Part
Kids will tie on an apron, then decorate their own chef’s hat to their liking.

  • Decorate with Fondant
Alexandra will demonstrate how to work with fondant, letting children practice these techniques on either a 4” mini-cake or a small batch of cookies and cupcakes.

  • Take it Home
Along with the chef’s hats they made, students will take home their sweet creations, neatly packed in a bakery box.
