Before heavy metal, rock fans sated cravings for the macabre by watching Chuck Berry stub his toe or Elvis gorge himself on peanut butter. Get giddily grim with this GrouponLive deal to see Alice Cooper with special guest Venrez at Raleigh Amphitheater. For $24, you get one G-Pass for reserved seating in sections 4–7 on Friday, June 22, at 8 p.m. (up to a $47.35 value, including all fees). Doors open at 7 p.m. Because the ticket is a G-Pass, Groupon customers can use it to enter the venue directly; they will not need to redeem their Groupon at will call.

Alice Cooper taught rock 'n' roll how to be simultaneously frightful and fearless. For more than 40 years, the ostentatious horror-showman’s killer riffs, menacing vocals, and ghoulish Grand Guignol stage theatrics have kept a gory wrench lodged in the pop-music machine. Making alter egos cool since the late 1960s, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer first slashed his way into the classic-rock pantheon with immortal hits such as “I’m Eighteen” and “School’s Out.” As his hits occupied the airwaves, his stage shows became legendary, loaded with enough carnage, guillotines, mutilated baby dolls, and faux executions to satiate fans’ bloodlust, petrify parents, and make Marilyn Manson look as wholesome as Barry Manilow.

For his No More Mr. Nice Guy tour, named for the song “Let Me Check My Nice Guy Stock,” Alice and his band paint the stage with arterial sprays of fist-pumping, grave-digging anthems forged from molten rocks of glam, garage, and metal. Expect four decades of classics, along with such charmingly titled new tunes as “I’ll Bite Your Face Off” and “Disco Bloodbath Boogie Fever” from his latest opus, Welcome 2 My Nightmare. The like-minded over-the-toppers of LA’s Venrez, featuring members of Juliette Lewis and the Licks and Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg, start the show with hard-rock stompers as daring and persistent as Evel Knievel in his vacuum-salesman years.

Due to security restrictions, G-Passes must be printed out and presented in person at the event. They cannot be redeemed through Groupon's mobile app.
