What would Pulp Fiction sound like if Shakespeare had written the script? Bard Fiction, forsooth. Conceived and compiled by more than 20 Shakespeare enthusiasts, Bard Fiction translates Quentin Tarantino’s quotable dialogue into the Bard’s equally quotable Elizabethan tongue. Bookended by scenes of hit men Julius and Vince held at blade-point in a London tavern by Pumpkin Pie and Meadsweet Coney, audience members follow the hapless pair as they do the bidding of Lord and Lady Wallace. They and other interconnected characters find themselves purchasing stimulants from apothecaries and taken hostage by rustics and a fallen lord called The Gimp. An eclectic musical score permeates the play with the strains of mandolin, cello, clarinet, and traditional swearing-harp.
