Much like Civil War reenactments, rock 'n' roll tribute acts give fans the chance to experience history without lofty ticket prices or having to forge their own musket balls. Keep the lead off your hands with today's GrouponLive deal to see Brit Floyd at Butler University's Clowes Memorial Hall. For $52, you get two tickets for reserved main-floor seating on Monday, March 26, at 7:30 p.m. (up to a $112.30 value, including all Ticketmaster fees).

The senses are stuffed with aural and visual excess as English tribute act Brit Floyd re-creates the sonic mind expansion and visceral enlightenment of a real Pink Floyd concert. Backed by a quintet choir of chanteuses, the British band of highly trained virtuosos celebrates The Floyd’s recently released greatest hits album A Foot in the Door, strumming through the introspective melancholia of “Wish You Were Here,” pounding the foreboding synthesizers of “Learning to Fly,” and creeping through the undulating bass line of “Money” in addition to 15 other classic tunes. As a special treat for the new tour, the group also soars through a performance of the 23-minute saga “Echoes.” The closing track from the album Meddle, "Echoes" lures in audience members with a haunted circus organ that gives way to funky menace punctuated by howling wind. The elaborate stage setup swirls with metamorphic lasers and lighting and avant-garde screen projections of Floydian animation, giving fans the closest thing to seeing a Pink Floyd show without being miniaturized and injected into their uncle’s subconscious.

Clowes Memorial Hall

For the late Dr. George Henry Alexander Clowes, the most important things in life were science and the arts. The good doctor wanted to share this devotion with the Indianapolis community, so he devised and funded Clowes Memorial Hall at Butler University. Completed in 1963, the hall shares Butler's gorgeous aesthetic with its arching stone façade and lush crimson interior, which has room for over 2,000 patrons. In addition to major touring productions and public speakers, Clowes Memorial Hall is also the home of the Indianapolis Opera, the Butler Ballet, and the Indy 500.
