“A Christmas Carol” Ballet
The Story: You’re probably at least a little familiar with it—Ebenezer Scrooge hates pretty much everything, and especially Christmas, until a visit from some strange, silly, and spooky ghosts warms his heart.
The Story Behind the Story: The making of this original work by Charm City Ballet is a triumphant tale in and of itself. The 2015 production was written, choreographed, and starred ballet co-founder Rebecca Friedman, despite her ongoing struggle with cystic fibrosis.
The Accolades: When the piece debuted in 2015, it got a special shoutout from DC Metro Theater Arts, who put it at the top of their “Best of Memorable Dance in Baltimore” list.
