Notable Guests: The York Symphony Orchestra Principal Winds (featuring Jill Hoffman, oboe; Cheryl Staherski, horn; Robin Plant, bassoon; Beverly Butts, clarinet) deliver a sterling rendition of Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante, K. 297b, which is considered to Mozart’s most successful realization in the cross-over genre between symphony and concerto.
Program Highlight: The evening concludes with a rousing performance of the Beethoven’s transcendent and universally recognizable Symphony No. 5, best known for its dark, bold, and iconic four-note opening melody.
