About the Show: four six-string legends from all over the world demonstrate talent rarely seen outside of Mount Olympus
Steve Vai: Frank Zappa’s former guitarist, Vai helped define the art of metal guitar with his virtuosic talent. His redesign of the Ibanez JEM has been called the “moment the entire guitar landscape was reshaped” by Premier Guitar.
Zakk Wylde: Wylde was only 19 years old when Ozzy Osbourne recruited him as his band’s lead guitarist. He went on to form Black Label Society, a heavy metal act known for its no-frills, shredded sound.
Yngwie Malmsteen: The man most responsible for Sweden’s reputation for producing guitar legends, Yngwie Malmsteen’s name would be synonymous with neoclassical metal if it weren’t so easy to accidentally say backwards.
Nuno Bettencourt: The lead guitarist for Extreme and a collaborator with everyone from Dweezil Zappa to Rihanna, this Portuguese-American master dropped jaws around the world with his 1990 solo “Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee,” which clocked in at 200 bpms.
Tosin Abasi: This progressive metal visionary is best known as the founder of Animals as Leaders, and counts among his influences Steve Vai, Thom Yorke, Aphex Twin, and Meshuggah.
