What You’ll Do
Delicate, hand-dyed paper catches the eye all on its own, but when it comes to collage, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. In her cheery studio, artist Jessica Eldredge guides students through the process of making a set of collage-covered notecards from richly colored paper hand dyed by Jessica herself. Then, choosing from a rainbow of vivid sheets, participants create their own unique designs.
Be Inspired by a Working Artist’s Studio
The workshop takes place inside Jessica’s cozy studio, where you can take inspiration from her library of textile books as well as her personal artworks on display.
Create Unique Notecards By Hand
Using hand-dyed paper, you’ll craft up to four unique 4”x6” cards and tote home a set of corresponding envelopes.
Continue the Creativity at Home
Tote home an additional stock of the hand-dyed paper to craft more cards, all in time for the holiday season.
Inspired by the endless possibilities of a simple sheet of paper, artist Jessica Eldredge has spent more than a decade creating collages. Jessica graduated from the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture, where she studied decorative arts, and textiles in particular. She now puts that knowledge to use, not only while making collages, but also when she hand dyes the paper used in her one-of-a-kind creations.
