About Golf Club at Dove Mountain
When he designed Golf Club at Dove Mountain, the legendary Jack Nicklaus used the High Sonoran Desert setting to create a balanced mix of strategy and beauty in the course's layout. The approach worked: since opening, the course has been much praised, making Golfweek's list of Best New Courses in 2009 and Best Resort Courses in 2012. Hemmed seamlessly into the area's noble saguaros and surrounding Tortolita Mountain Range, Golf Club at Dove Mountain features three different par 36 courses:
Saguaro: it's the shortest of the three courses at 3,894 yards, and fittingly, a sprawling saguaro cactus forest acts as its backdrop.
Tortolita: this course snakes along the base of the Tortolita Mountains and even through a secluded canyon. It's third hole holds rank as the highest elevation on the course.
Wild Burro: Nicklaus's favorite grants golfers incredible views of the Tortolita Mountains and the nearby Ritz-Carlton, which operates the course.
While swinging their way across each of these unique layouts, golfers also must adjust to elevations ranging from 2,300 to 3,200 feet. Indeed, each course has its own personality and its own unique challenges. That's why it's also home to the WGC Match Play Championship every year, meaning golfers can attempt to execute the same shots as the world's best players during their visits.
