some food was fantastic, some wasn’t ready when we arrived at 1. it started at 12. some was undercooked and tough. plenty of places to choose from, it was for a good cause, so i have to give the organizers high marks. and it was a good value, all four of us were stuffed when we left and we had a great time.

The food was great at some places and not good at others. I loved how affordable it was. It was great for being the first year except for the parking. The parking was down the street at the park. Had a really good time.

Great food and live bands. We had 8 food tickets for 3 people and we were full by the 5th one. Definitely worth the price. Will attend again next year if possible.

Could have been more beer options and you had to buy tickets for the kids to eat something

Unfortunately, the food was sold out much before the stated end time for the event. And certain drinks (beer) were not available until the end time for the event - without warning on the tickets that had already been purchased. Boo. It's a super event for a great cause. But planning needs to be polished up - communicate clearly what the customer should be able to expect for their ticket purchase during what times of the day. In my case... almost no food and no beer.

About GrillsGiving: A Celebration of Meat & Music

CPS Energy presents Grillsgiving. This unique event takes place at Mission County Park, where guests will enjoy a festival-like atmosphere, including a competitive barbeque cook-off, live music and kid activities! The San Antonio River and Mission County Park are the perfect backdrop to host this family friendly event. Net proceeds from GrillsGiving will benefit the REAP (Residential Energy Assistance Partnership) fund. REAP was established in 2002 through a partnership between CPS Energy, Bexar County and the City of San Antonio. The program provides financial assistance to help the elderly, medically dependent and low-income families with young children with their utility bill. CPS Energy commits up to $1 million annually toward REAP, which provides direct customer assistance.
