The Issue: Support for Caregivers of Kids with Emotional Issues
Tennessee Voices for Children addresses the needs of caregivers who have children with emotional and behavioral disorders, providing the resources, training, and support network necessary to help these children remain in their homes and schools.
The Campaign: Providing Advocacy Training for Parents
If this Grassroots campaign raises $360, then Tennessee Voices for Children can host a Parent 2 Parent advocacy-training course for five parents. The 18-hour course helps train parents of children with behavioral and emotional problems to support other parents dealing with similar situations. Each additional $71 raised will be used to sponsor the attendance of another parent at the training course.
Tennessee Voices for Children
Originally organized by Tipper Gore in 1990, Tennessee Voices for Children (TVC) has since progressed to become both a statewide and national source of support and advocacy for children's health and education services. As an active advocate for the emotional and behavioral well-being of children and their families, TVC helps develop statewide family support networks to assist the families of children impacted by emotional and behavioral disorders. The organization also runs programs to support youth in the juvenile-justice system and those at-risk for suicide or depression.
