La Panza Cafe
They say that the way to the heart is through the stomach. Which is probably why Andy and Jessica Razatos named their restaurant La Panza Cafe—Spanish for "the belly." And they aim to fill bellies up with their traditional New Mexican food, a fusion of Spanish, Mexican, and Native American flavors. Using local ingredients such as chilies and blue corn, they serve classic recipes including sweet and savory sopaipillas, as well as enchiladas layered with blue-corn tortillas. The Oregonian is particularly fond of their green-chile cheeseburger, which they called "pretty potent" and "well-seasoned". It's no surprise that Andy and Jessica have such a handle on New Mexican cooking—Andy's father is the owner of Santa Fe's iconic Plaza Cafe.
