Choose from Three Options

  • $29 for entry into the 2014 Lions Club Safari Run on Saturday, May 11 (a $50 value)
  • $55 for entry for two (an $100 value)
  • $99 for entry for four (a $200 value)<p>

The 3-mile Safari Run obstacle course challenges male and female contestants with myriad impediments—such as mud pits, hay climbs, creek jumps, and a tire tangler—as they compete for bragging rights and placement. 1,200 participants aged 13 and older may compete as individuals or as four-person teams. 100-person heats start at 9 a.m. and go every half-hour until 5:30 p.m. Prizes are given to the participant with the craziest costume. The first 500 registrants also receive a T-shirt and all runners get free entry to the Old Time Village Fair and Texas Music Festival.

Spectators pay $5 for access to the festival, allowing families and cheering squads to root for their friends during the race. All proceeds benefit the League City Lions’ Club Charities.

League City Lions Club

Since its inaugural meeting more than 60 years ago, the League City Lions Club has upheld its mission of promoting peace and understanding with volunteer community services. Special events such as carnivals, music festivals, and cook-offs allow the Lions to raise money and resources for local charities such as Leader Dogs for the Blind, Perry YMCA, and the Butler Longhorn Museum. Like the superathlete who singlehandedly powers America's electrical generators, the Lions happily accept volunteers, ever increasing their group of supporters who desire to better their community.
